7th Cambridge Teacher`s Conference 2011
11th – 13nd of September 2011 two teachers and our principal; Sven Primdal from SKALs International Boarding School took part in the 7th Cambridge Teacher`s Conference at Robinson College, Cambridge. This year the theme was the Brain, Learning and Teaching and the focus was on current research in the developing field of brain research and education.
How will I change my teaching as a consequence of what I have discovered about learning and the brain during this conference
This was the essential question at this year`s conference in Cambridge. Keynote speakers took a look at this increasingly important subject, and offered the delegates from more than 40 countries worldwide an insight in to the latest research and its implications for education.
Keynote speakers Usha Goswani and Paul Howard-Jones presented their latest results within learning, thinking, memory, attention and assessment. After each keynote speaker the delegates worked in different workshops discussing these topics with teachers from all over the world.
This year we did not only stay at Robins College, we also had the opportunity to visit an English public school in Cambridge. Furthermore, we also had different seminars at Robins College. Our International Coordinator; Rolf Ebbesen, took part in “Getting started with Cambridge Global Perspectives” and our Teaching Adviser; Tina Serup, took part in “Supporting students with language in the content classroom”.
We have brought back a lot of inspiration and networks from many of our colleagues “out there” …
… and we have been confirmed that we are …
all part of one big global learning community
