The curriculum of the Cambridge classes is built upon Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) and The Danish National Curriculum.
IGCSE 9 c
English, Mathematics, German and Combined Science are based upon CIE whereas other subjects (such as Danish) are taught on the basis of Danish National Curriculum.
IGCSE 10 c
All subject (i.e. English, Maths, Combined Science, 2nd Foreign Language, English Literature and Global Perspectives are taught within the frame of International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). Only Danish is taught on the basis of Danish national Curriculum. This class qualifies students to IB and A-level and is equivalent to a Pre-IB.
The IGCSE classes take an annual study trip to Cambridge, UK, where the main purpose is to do a 2-week language course at EC Cambridge. Students stay in pairs in private homes. Alternatively students can choose to go to Hanoi, Vietnam as part of an international exchange programme with a Cambridge school.
SKALs International Project Class
SIP follows its own curriculum and should be considered as a transition year, as there is no National Examination.
The English-language project-based 10th grade (SIP) with no examinations will do their 2-week field trip to Nepal. The trip includes cultural studies, trekking and project work in Sermathang, a small mountain village in the Helambu Region.
